1. In the left-hand sidebar, go to Admin > Courses.
2. This will show all courses currently active on your platform. To create a new course, click Add a Course.
3. Enter your new course's basic information. This includes the Course Name, Course Short Name, and Duration. An overview of these fields and their definitions can be found below, with mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk (*):

- Course Name*: The full title of your new course.
- Course Short Name*: An abbreviated course title. This shows on the learner overview page and Course Search pages.
- Aim: To provide an overview of the course's content. This appears to learners when viewing their course overview page.
- Level: The level of qualification.
- Guided Learning Hours: The approximate hours needed for a learner to complete the course.
- Client Course Code: An additional label for the course.
- Marking Rate: The overall tutor payment value attached to the course. Works alongside the Tutor Payments feature (if enabled).
- Moderation Rate: The overall moderator payment value attached to the course. Works alongside the Tutor Payments feature (if enabled).
- Duration: The duration, in days, of the course. This will pre-fill the learner's start date accordingly when learners are added to the course.
- Allow Simple Enrolment: This decides whether or not the new course shows as an option on the Simple Enrolment Form (if enabled).
4. Once your new course is created, you will be prompted to navigate to the Units tab. Click Units at the top of the page.
5. To add a new unit, click 'add a unit here'.
6. Enter your new unit's name (mandatory), description (optional), and duration (optional). Click Save to confirm.
Entering a unit duration will pre-fill new learners' submission due dates for that unit depending on the number of days entered, e.g. a learner enrolled 15/05/2025 with a unit duration of 7 days will have an automatic due date of 22/05/2025.
7. Once a new unit has been created, click 'add new activity here'. A list of potential activities will appear, allowing for the creation of either learning content activities or assessment activities.
8. After adding all units/activities, click Publish to make your new course live. This will take you to the Publish screen.
9. Click the Publish button to publish the course, making it available to add to learners. You can also add information in the release notes box to identify each version.
10. To make changes to existing courses, go to
Admin > Courses and click
Edit beside the course you would like to make changes to. The
Details tab allows you to update the name/short name/aim, and the
Units tab allows for changes to the course's units and activities. After making any changes, click
Publish to make those changes live for any future enrolments on the course.
