How to Create PDF Certificate Templates

How to Create PDF Certificate Templates

This help guide will explain how to create certificates in eAssessor Pro. These certificates can be automatically generated by the system once learners have completed their course.

1. Log Into your System Admin account.

2. From your Home page, go to Admin > Organisation.

The System Admin homepage. Admin > Organisation can be accessed from the left-hand sidebar.

3. Go to Certificates.

The Organisation > Edit page. The Certificates tab is accessible from the top row of additional tabs.

4. To create a new certificate design, click Add New Certificate.

Admin > Organisation > Certificates. The 'Add New Certifictate' button is accessible on the right-hand side of the page.

5. Title your certificate in the Certificate Name field.

The certificate edit page. All editable options are located on the right-hand side of the page.

6. Upload a certificate design by clicking Choose File or dragging a compatible file into the upload box. This should be an image file (.jpg, .png) of a blank certificate.

Image files are uploaded under the Certificate Template field.

7.  Font Family allows you to change the displayed font used for elements like the learner and course names. The Status dropdown allows you to set the certificate as active or inactive.

The Font Family options are:
  1. Helvetica (default)
  2. Times New Roman
  3. Courer
The Status options are:
  1. Active (default, allows a certificate design to be used)
  2. Inactive (makes the certificate design unavailable)
  3. Deleted (completely removes the certificate design)

8. The Learner's Name, Course Name, Date and Certificate Number can be added to the certificate on the right-hand side of the page. These fields will automatically populate with the learner's information when they download their certificate from eAssessor Pro.
  1. Learner's Name: the name of the learner completing the course.
  2. Course Name: the name of the course they have completed.
  3. Date: the date on which they completed their course.
  4. Certificate Number: a unique number identifying the learner's certificate, generated by the system. These begin at 0001 and increase by 1 each time a new certificate is generated (for example, the first certificate will have a certificate number of 0001, the next one will have a certificate number of 0002 and so on).
To add any of these fields, click their heading on the right-hand side of the page (for example Learner Name.)

9. Select the horizontal and vertical text alignment for the field you are adding. The Font Size and Font Colour can also be adjusted.

10. Click Add to certificate. The sample text for the field you have added will appear on the certificate template, allowing you to click and drag to change its position.

11. The above process can be repeated to add the Course Name, Date and Certificate Number. All of these fields are optional and do not need to be added to the certificate.

12. If you have any Custom Fields active on your platform, these can also be added to the certificate and will populate with whatever value the learner has under that field. To add these, click the Custom Field heading and select which field you would like to add, then follow the above steps to apply it to the certificate design.

If you have more than one custom field, you will be able to select which to add.

13. The Additional Pages section allows you to upload additional template images to use as additional certificate pages. This is useful for any additional info you need to include but cannot have fields incorporated in the same way as the front page can. To add another page, click Choose File or drag and drop a compatible image file into the upload box.

14. Once you have finished editing the certificate, click Save. Clicking Save and Preview will save your changes and download an example copy of your completed certificate for you to review.

15. To apply your certificate to a course, go to Admin > Courses.

16. Beside the course you want to apply the certificate to, click Edit.

17. Scroll down to Client Course Options. Set Generate Certificate to Yes.

18. The Course Certificate field will appear. Select the certificate you want to use from the dropdown list.

19. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. Any completions of that course from now on will give learners the ability to download their PDF certificate.

20. Once they have completed their course, learners will see the Certificate button on their Home page. Clicking this will download their certificate.
