How to change a grading decision (Access to HE)


This help guide will explain how to change HE grading decisions as a Moderator or System Admin.

1.     1. To get started, log in using a Moderator or System Admin account on your platform.

2.     Once Logged in, you will be greeted with your Dashboard.

 

3. Next go to Quality > Moderation.

 


4. Once Moderation is selected, a list of any learners whom the moderator is associated with, will be displayed in the list.

 

5.     From the list displayed, locate and select the unit(s) required by clicking on the checkbox at the side of the unit(s).

 

6. Once selected go to the Actions column and select the Action required from the drop down list. From the list select the ‘Select for moderation’ option.


  

7. Once the ‘Select for moderation’ option has been chosen click on the Apply button. A ‘Select for moderation’ window will pop-up on screen, asking you to confirm the action.


InfoClick the Confirm button (if however, you decide that you don’t want to confirm then click the Cancel button).

8.     Once confirmed the Moderation Status will change to 'Selected'.

 

9.     Next click on the Moderate link to select for sampling.

 

10. Once the Unit / Assessment has been selected for moderation, the 'Moderation Report' page is displayed.



11. To change the Grade of a learner’s assessment, go to the 'Grade Profile' section which is located directly under the 'Actions section'.



12. Click on the 'Unlock button' and change the fields according to the re-grade of the assessment. This will enable any editable fields to allow for regrading.



13. To change any of the 'Profile grading' click on the one(s) that you wish to change by clicking on the drop-down list. The options shown are in the table below.

14. Once regrading has been completed, click on the 'Regrade button' (in the example below only 'Transferrable skills' has been amended), but you may change all of them if required.

 

15. Once the 'Regrade button' has been clicked, a confirmation window is displayed.

InfoClick the Confirm button (if however, you decide that you don’t want to confirm then click the Cancel button).

16. Continue to make changes where required, to confirm the Regrading changes, click on the Confirm button. This will now show the new gradings.


17. Once the Regrade has been confirmed Moderation can then be continued as normal by completing the moderation report.

 


 18. Once the Moderation report has been completed scroll down to the bottom of the page and tick the ‘I confirm…’check box, then chose to either 'Return to tutor, Return to tutor (with learner corrections)', or 'Sign off.' If the 'Target Date' is left blank this will default to the day when the Moderation report is written.


 

19. If the 'Sign off button' has been selected then a confirmation window will be displayed, click on the 'Confirm button'. Once the Confirm button has been selected, a message will appear at the top of the page showing that the 'Assessment has been signed off.'
