Moderation Plan Help Guide

Moderation Plan Help Guide

This help guide will explain how a moderator can use the Moderation Plan to select and sample learner assessments.
NOTE: The Moderation Plan serves as an alternative way of selecting and sampling units as a Moderator and can be used in place of the Quality > Moderation page. You are not required to use both of these pages at the same time.

1. To get started, log into your Moderator account on your platform.
If you have forgotten your password for your account, Click on Forgotten Password?

2. From your Home page, 'click' Quality in the left-hand sidebar. From there, 'click' Moderation Plan.

NOTE: If you have a dedicated Quality Manager who handles Learner / Assessment Assignments of Moderation they will NOT be able to assign units for moderation using the Moderation Plan. They will still need to use the standard Moderation page to assign work for moderation.

3. To view the moderation sampling plan, use the Filter Options at the top of the page to select the course for which you would like to view learner assessments.

4. You also have the option to select a tutor and filter for learner course start/end dates. This can help when moderating for a large number of learners.

5. Once a course has been selected and any additional filter options set, 'click' Search.

6. When viewing the moderation plan, each learner will have their own row in the table. Each column represents a different assessment.

7. To select or pre-select a unit for moderation, 'tick' the box labelled Selected or Pre-Selected.
This will display as 'Selected' if the assessment has been passed by the tutor and is ready for moderation; if this has not yet been done it will display as 'Pre-Selected' instead.

8. If a selected unit is ready for moderation 'click' Click to sample to begin sampling. This will open the moderation feedback page.
For more info on providing moderation feedback and signing off units, please see Moderator Help Guide

9. There are additional optional fields for each assessment. These allow you to indicate if a sample is either interim or final, or indicate the sampling method.
The list of sampling methods can be managed by Admin users from Reference Data > Assessment Cycle. The default options are Assessment Plans, Progress Reviews, and Observation of Assessor.

10. Any units that have been signed off or returned to the tutor/learner will show appropriately, with the option to view any feedback.

11. Any information currently showing on the moderation plan can be exported into Excel using the green Export button.
